01PERSONAL / WHAT ANIMATES ME

Curiosity is a
way of living.

I am most alive when I am learning a system, practicing a craft, exploring another culture, or creating an experience that other people can enter.

Attention becomes enthusiasm.

I have always gravitated toward things with something underneath the surface: a system to understand, a rhythm to feel, a strategy to improve, a story to shape, or a culture to learn from.

That is what connects programming, Japan, drumming, chess, Rubik's puzzles, esports, and collaborative storytelling for me. Each gives me something different to practice, whether that is patience, imagination, competition, or working with other people.

01BPASSION INDEX

A wider field of interest.

CULTURE / PERSPECTIVE日本

Japan

My interest in Japan is an interest in a place, a history, a language, and a culture that is larger than the version presented through media. It reflects a broader desire to step outside what is familiar and understand another world on its own terms.

TECHNOLOGYMAKE

From fascination to creation

A childhood Game Boy, Minecraft command blocks, Scratch, and C# gradually changed technology from something I consumed into something I could shape.

MUSICHEAR

Precision with feeling

Drumming teaches me to listen, hold a foundation, respond in real time, and contribute without needing to occupy the center.

STORYPLAY

Worlds built together

Games and tabletop storytelling give structure to imagination—and remind me that the best experiences leave room for other people to change the outcome.

01CAN EARLY THROUGH LINE

I wanted to know how it worked.

Technology has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, but the defining shift came when play became creation.

By eleven or twelve I had built my first game. As a teenager, that grew into an independent software business used by more than 100,000 people. I enjoyed turning an idea into something real, supporting the people who used it, and improving it based on their feedback.
